How should we feel about “sex pests” & poetry?

‘Sex pest’ Robert Burns and the long tradition of poets behaving badly – Daniel Cook – The Conversation – 1/24/18

The initial message I’m getting from this article is that poets shouldn’t write about sex anymore, esp. violent sex, even if they are writing about or from the point of view of fictional characters. Hopefully I am misreading/misinterpreting.
