(poetry diary 146) Posting this on a warm day in January. Am finding the perspective useful. Thinking of how to deal with hard times & how to help friends get through too, I’m also liking the line “Never doubt that thought and time make things small.”

It has never been so easy to cry
openly or to acknowledge children.
Never before could I walk directly
to the center of an island city
