Grandchild – Ari Banias 

She says so the aunt and uncle and cousins all look
in unison ooooh their approval
What a beautiful girl while we hunch
on the veranda in jeans and baggy t-shirt not

the scarps


Despite the breaks that scarred the farms and left the blaze

to blanch the snags that riddle the slopes like bones
