So apparently nobody ever has any idea of when the Nobel Prize in Literature is to be awarded.   This is tradition.

The New Republic has a fun article, though, on who will not and who might win this year:

Who Will Win the 2016 Nobel Prize in Literature? Not Bob Dylan, that’s for sure. – ALEX SHEPHARD – New Republic – October 6, 2016

According to the article, here are the “Ladbrokes Favorites Who Actually Have a Shot (Maybe)”

However,  re Adoinis, Shephard writes:

The situation in Syria is so depressing that even the Nobel Committee for Literature, which loves to celebrate its own wokeness, won’t touch it with a ten-foot pole, which means that the poet and perennial Nobel bridesmaid Adonis also probably will not win it.
