I’m doing an experiment re: trying to unofficially catalog the poems put out by Poetry Daily, Verse Daily, and The Writer’s Almanac very loosely, by subject, or at least by circumstance (for example, in the case of the one at the Writer’s Almanac below, which I’m tagging as “working outdoors” or “chores” but which is more of a poem about meditation.) I’m wondering whether creating an effective organizational system for these and others in places that are not as easily-searchable as The Poetry Foundation will help others be more able to find poems they can use in times of need.
What I have below is very rough, but it’s a start.
Katharine Towers has three poems at Poetry Daily today. One is on rain, one on field oaks, and the other is on hearing a single note of music.
At The Writer’s Almanac, David Budbill has one called “This Shining Moment in the Now,” that’s good to read before or after doing chores outside.
